Joinery for spas, health clubs and leisure
Timber lockers, changing-room benches, vanity units and reception desks for spas, gyms, health clubs and golf clubs: drawn for the space, made in our Poole workshop and fitted by our own joiners.
We make the joinery for spas, gyms, health clubs and golf clubs: timber lockers, changing-room benches, vanity units, reception desks and display cabinets. Each piece is drawn for the space, built in our Poole workshop and fitted by our own joiners. For the Lygon Spa at The Lygon Arms we designed, built and installed the reception desk and display cabinets.
A spa or a club is judged the moment a guest walks in, and again in the changing room. The reception desk sets the tone; the lockers, benches and vanity units have to look as good on a busy Saturday as on the first morning, in rooms that are often warm and damp.
So we treat it as joinery: drawn for the room, made at the bench in our Poole workshop and fitted by the people who made it.

The Lygon Spa
The Lygon Arms in Broadway is a 14th-century coaching inn in the Cotswolds, in the same hotel group as Chewton Glen. For the Lygon Spa we designed, built and installed the bespoke reception desk and the display cabinets: the first thing every guest sees on arrival.
The desk is panelled, with pilasters and a moulded top. Read about our other projects.

Display for spa products
A spa sells its products as well as its treatments. The display cabinets we made for the Lygon Spa have open shelves under a moulded cornice, with cupboards below.
We make display cabinets and shelving to suit the products and the room, painted or in timber, and can make them with the reception desk as one scheme.

Lockers and changing rooms
We make timber lockers and changing-room benches for the changing rooms and locker rooms of spas, gyms, health clubs and golf clubs. They are drawn for the room: the number of lockers, their sizes and the run of benches set out around the walls, the doors and the way people move through the space.
A changing room is busy and often damp, so the timber, the boards and the finishes are chosen for it, and we show you samples before anything is made. The lockers and benches can be made with the vanity units and wall panelling around them, so the whole room is drawn and built by one workshop.
What we make for spas and clubs
Spa & leisure joineryGolf clubs and members’ clubs
For golf clubs and members’ clubs we make timber lockers and changing-room benches, the bar and back bar, wall panelling and honours boards, drawn for the clubhouse and made in our Poole workshop.
Working with the designer and contractor
A spa, gym or clubhouse interior is usually built to a designer’s scheme, with a main contractor and other trades on site. We work to the programme, alongside the architect, the contractor and the interior designer, and out of hours where a club or hotel has to keep trading.
The joinery is made and finished in our workshop, so the time on site is spent fitting it. See commercial & hospitality joinery and hotel joinery; for clinics and salons, see clinic & salon joinery.
How a project runs
From drawings to the final fitCommon questions
Spa & leisure joineryDo you make wooden lockers?
Yes. We make timber lockers for changing rooms in spas, gyms, health clubs and golf clubs, made to measure for the room, with changing-room benches drawn to match.
Can you make changing-room benches?
Yes. The benches are drawn with the lockers and the rest of the room, so they line up with the walls and the lockers and suit the way people move through the space, and they are built for hard daily use.
Have you made joinery for a spa before?
Yes. For the Lygon Spa at The Lygon Arms in Broadway we designed, built and installed the bespoke reception desk and the display cabinets.
Do you make lockers for golf clubs?
Yes. We make timber lockers and changing-room benches for golf clubs and members’ clubs, as well as the bar, wall panelling and honours boards.
Can you work to our designer’s drawings?
Yes. We regularly work to an architect’s or interior designer’s drawings, adding the workshop detailing that makes the joinery buildable, or we draw it from a brief. Either way, you approve set-out drawings and samples before anything is made.
How do we start?
Send us your drawings, or a few photos of the space with rough sizes. We come back with a guide price, then visit to survey and talk it through before anything is drawn in detail.
