Joinery for clinics and salons
Reception desks, treatment-room cabinetry, retail display and solid-surface counters for aesthetics clinics, beauty and hair salons, barbers, nail bars, and dental, medical and vet practices.
We make joinery for aesthetics clinics, beauty and hair salons, barbers, nail bars, and dental, medical and vet practices: reception desks, treatment-room cabinetry, retail display, and Corian counters and wall cladding, made in our Poole workshop. We have made the reception desks for Beauty Sculpting Room in Broadstone, the MINT hair salon and The Massage Company.
In a clinic or a salon the joinery does two jobs. At the front, the reception desk and the display set the tone and sell the products; in the treatment rooms and at the stations, everything has to be in reach and wipe clean between clients.
We draw both for the room and the people who work in it, make them at the bench and fit them with our own joiners.
What we make for clinics and salons
Clinic & salon joinery
Beauty Sculpting Room, Broadstone
For Beauty Sculpting Room, a beauty studio in Broadstone, we made the reception desk: a white marble-effect top and front on a brass plinth.
We make reception desks for clinics and salons in timber, veneer or solid surface, with the drawers, storage and cable routes the people behind them need. A desk can also have a lowered section at wheelchair height, so a visitor in a wheelchair can sign in and talk to reception face to face; we have built a reception desk with one. See bespoke reception desks.

MINT and The Massage Company
For the MINT hair salon we made a curved white reception desk with a green light strip along the front.
For The Massage Company we made a white, two-level reception desk.

Retail display
Many clinics and salons sell products as well as treatments, and display joinery makes them easy to see and to reach. At the Lygon Spa, at The Lygon Arms in Broadway, we designed, built and installed the display cabinets for the spa’s products as well as the reception desk. The cabinets have open shelves under a moulded cornice, with cupboards below.
We make shelving and display cabinets to suit the products and the room, painted or in timber, with lighting built in where you want it.

Treatment rooms
In a treatment room the joinery has to keep everything in reach and wipe clean between clients. For clinic interiors we make fitted cupboards, drawers and worktops for aesthetics and beauty treatment rooms, and treatment-room cabinetry for dental, medical and vet practices, with worktops and basins in solid surface where they need to be seamless.
Each room is drawn around the way you work, set out to the room and made in our Poole workshop before it is fitted.
Hygienic surfaces and wall cladding
Corian and other solid surfaces are non-porous, can be joined without a visible seam and can be heat-formed into curves, so a counter, a basin and the wall behind it can read as one wipe-clean surface with nowhere for dirt to gather.
We fabricate solid surface in our own workshop alongside the joinery: reception desk tops, treatment-room worktops, vanity units with the basin moulded in, and hygienic wall cladding. Scratches and marks can be sanded out, so the surface can be renewed rather than replaced. See Corian & solid surface.
Salons, barbers and nail bars
For hair and beauty salons, barber shops and nail salons we make the joinery of the salon interior: styling and nail stations, reception desks, retail display, and salon cabinetry and storage cabinets, drawn to the number of chairs and the way the room works, and finished to suit the brand.
We work to your designer’s drawings or draw from a brief, and fit out of hours where a salon has to keep trading. See shopfitting and commercial & hospitality joinery; for spas and gyms, see spa & leisure joinery, and for hotels, hotel joinery.
How a project runs
From drawings to the final fitCommon questions
Clinics & salonsHave you made joinery for salons and clinics before?
Yes. We have made the reception desks for Beauty Sculpting Room in Broadstone, the MINT hair salon and The Massage Company, and the display cabinets for the Lygon Spa at The Lygon Arms.
Can a reception desk have a lowered section for wheelchair users?
Yes. A section of the desk can be set at wheelchair height, so a visitor in a wheelchair can sign in and talk to reception face to face. We have built a reception desk with a lowered section, and can draw one into any desk.
Do you make treatment-room cabinetry for dental, medical and vet practices?
Yes: fitted cupboards, drawers and worktops for treatment rooms, as well as reception desks and waiting-room joinery, drawn to the room and the way the practice works.
What surfaces suit a treatment room?
Solid surfaces such as Corian are non-porous, joined without a visible seam and easy to wipe clean, and a basin can be moulded into the worktop as one piece. We fabricate them in our workshop alongside the joinery.
Can you clad walls in Corian?
Yes. Solid-surface sheets can be joined without a visible seam to make hygienic wall cladding, so the wall and the worktop in front of it wipe clean as one surface.
Can you work to our designer’s drawings?
Yes. We regularly work to an architect’s or interior designer’s drawings, adding the workshop detailing that makes the joinery buildable, or we draw it from a brief. Either way, you approve set-out drawings and samples before anything is made.
How do we start?
Send us your drawings, or a few photos of the room with rough sizes. We come back with a guide price, then visit to survey and talk it through before anything is drawn in detail.
