When we first met the client, they were unhappy that their kitchen area was badly lit and small. They disliked the existing kitchen units and felt that the cupboards were dated. They contacted us with the hope that our design skills would be able to help them turn the small room into a spacious, bright and modern area, transforming it into a room they could enjoy cooking and entertaining in.
In order to brighten the kitchen, our first step was choosing a light colour to give the impression of space. We paired the light walls with white gloss finish integrated cupboard doors to complete the clean, modern visual the client desired.
In the brief, we were told by the client that they disliked the square edges of their existing kitchen worktops, as they allowed liquid to spill over the edge. As a solution to this, we fitted brand new worktops with a waterfall, lipped edge that would stop water from travelling, and added a Corian finish to the surface for added durability.
Finally, we added an upstand along the entire kitchen wall, curving around the existing round window - this provided protection to the wall, as well as becoming a feature of the room. As a finishing touch, our team installed hob bars beside the hob, to allow hot pans to be place down on the worktop without the risk of damage from burning.
Upon completion of this kitchen fitting, the client was very happy with their results. They were left with a bright room that had beenmodernised, and every square inch of the area had beenutilised to provide an illusion of extra space.
